I. Management of the acquisition and development of electronic resources
Responsibility for overseeing the efficient and effective acquisition of electronic resources in conjunction with the Assistant Librarian: Serials, in line with current best practice
Responsibility for ensuring that electronic resources are appropriately recorded on the Library system or other resource discover system as appropriate
Assist the Head of Library Collections in negotiating licences for electronic material to ensure they fit the Museum’s needs.
Responsibility for the management of electronic resources. Liaising with the Library Digital Services Team on non-technical issues relating to development of an appropriate delivery platform in line with best practice
Promotion of electronic resources via social networking resources
Responsible for monitoring usage statistics of e-resources and reporting to Library Electronic Services Group and Library management regularly
Liaison with vendors as appropriate
II. Provide training and support in electronic resources
Responsibility for the promotion of electronic resources within the Museum, including training both within LIS and across the Museum
Provide training and support in serial acquisition processes (in collaboration with Assistant Librarian: Serials)
Development and delivery of training resources.
III. Electronic resources administration
Ezproxy administration
Maintaining subscribed to resources and holdings in SFX
Maintenance of licensing information and dissemination to enquiry points
Setting up new product trials, including advertising, managing staff feedback, and producing reports.
Maintain resources in Metalib and provide assistance to Librarians categorising resources
